Delvin Pereira is a highly respected banking professional and distinguished Rotary leader whose career spans more than thirty five years across finance, leadership, and community service. Delvin began his banking career at Commercial Bank of Ceylon, where he gained strong foundational exposure to core banking operations. He later joined Seylan Bank PLC, where he served for many years in progressively senior leadership roles. His career at Seylan culminated in his appointment as Deputy General Manager, a position from which he retired after making significant contributions to the bank’s growth, governance, and risk framework. During his tenure, he led and guided key functions including Retail Banking, Business Banking, Credit Management, Risk Management, and Trade Finance. He is widely regarded for his disciplined approach to credit, strategic decision making, and people focused leadership style.
Academically, Delvin holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Sydney, Australia, and is a Certified Management Accountant of Australia. His professional development is further strengthened by extensive local and international training in areas such as credit risk, project finance, SME financing, governance, and compliance.
Beyond his corporate career, Delvin’s most enduring impact is seen through his lifelong commitment to Rotary International. He joined Rotary in 1994 and has since dedicated more than three decades to structured community service and leadership development. Over the years, he has held numerous senior roles at club and district level within Rotary International District 3220, which covers Sri Lanka and the Maldives. His Rotary journey is marked by strong leadership, consensus building, and a clear focus on sustainable service.
In recognition of his experience, character, and vision, Delvin was unanimously elected as District Governor of Rotary International District 3220 for the year 2025/26. This appointment reflects the trust and confidence placed in him by the Rotary fraternity across Sri Lanka and the Maldives. As District Governor, he is committed to strengthening Rotary’s impact through meaningful community projects, ethical leadership, membership development, youth empowerment, and economic upliftment initiatives, particularly in support of micro, small, and medium enterprises.
